Our Story
Honeywolf Mercantile was founded in 2020. I’d been a union makeup artist for television and film for decades but the pandemic drove production and our lives to a screeching halt. It was within this quiet space that I realized I was yearning for deeper spiritual connection. Working in the film industry for decades, I wasn’t accustomed to idleness. Being an artist to my core, I was called to create. We cleared a space in our garage and went to work. I tested formulas, devoured knowledge on the science of candle making and developed clean-burning soy candles my husband and I could be proud of. The fire was lit, I switched careers and Honeywolf Mercantile was born.
Spiritual connectedness is not “one size fits all”. This is where our candles come in. There are traditional practices and formulas that have been passed down for centuries that we can use to better our lives and deepen our spiritual connection. Many nature-centered ancient practices like these have been lost to time. I’m impassioned to bring them back through our handcrafted products. Folk magic is pervasive in every single culture around the world. American Folk Magic, specifically Southern Conjure and Rootwork is especially close to my heart, having been a student and practitioner in my private life for over 30 years. From inception to completion, I put a tremendous amount of spiritual energy and knowledge into each candle formula. I do this for you. The proprietary fragrances and natural soy wax of our candles are all clean burning, meaning they are non toxic and safe to burn.
Since our business has expanded, we’ve moved out of the garage into a climate-controlled candle making studio right here on our wooded property in Georgia. I have plenty of sacred space for inspired creativity and we look forward to offering folk magic infused, hand-poured, scented soy wax candles for years to come. Honeywolf Mercantile is grateful for your support.
Keep the Fires Burning,
Erica
